Folk Redlands Ukulele Convention is two days featuring workshops, jams and concerts. Here is a rundown of events over the weekend and where you can see your favourite BUM. All this great ukulele goodness on our doorstep so come along and support this fun event.

SATURDAY 5 JULY
Workshops & Concert
12:30 – 1:30 pm: Learn to play Ukulele with Julie Minto (aka Mama Juju) $10 – Ever wanted to learn an instrument but thought it would be too hard? Ukulele is the worlds easiest instrument to learn. Kids and big kids welcome. BYO ukulele or spare ones supplied. Bring your uke-curious friends
1:40 – 3:40 pm: Ukulele Skills session with Azo Bell $15 – A sharing of extensive skills, insights and playing tips from a master ukulele player. Something to learn at all levels – Azo will also bring some tools and spend some time on ukulele set up and diagnosing instrument problems at the end of the workshop. “Azo Bell is a master musician and a superb ukulele player. In Bell’s hands this modest instrument is an object of wonder.” (Rhythms Magazine)
4:00- 5:00 pm: Finger picking workshop with Derek Farrell $10– Our own Derek is a very experienced musician who has most recently been teaching finger picking at Northside Brisbane Ukulele Musicians (BUMs) You need to be able to already play chords at a reasonable level to attend this workshop.
6:00- 9:30pm Saturday Night Concert All Tickets $20 Featuring Mama Juju + Jam / Azo Bell / The Pockets. Doors open at 5:30 for a 6:00 pm start.
