QPAC’s, Creative Fusions, an inspiring music workshop program fusing diverse musical and cultural styles, is on Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 July at the Cremorne Theatre.

Creative Fusions is for musicians aged 10 to 100 years of all levels of experience who share a passion for music, and want to develop new skills, and perform alongside professional role models.

Led by Dr Anthony Garcia and Sounds Across Oceans, and featuring a team of experienced Queensland teaching artists, Creative Fusions is a 3-day workshop process to foster self-expression and experimentation. From Chinese zither or African Djembe, to ukulele, jazz guitar, classical violin, or didgeridoo – participants can immerse themselves in music-making heaven and learn how to jam in groups, create new sounds and songs, and learn about other cultures and music styles.

Creative Fusions is intercultural and inter-generational! It’s a safe, supervised environment for young musicians and older community musicians to collaborate in music-making. Come on your own or come with a relative or friend. The program culminates in a Friday night performance, showcasing original compositions and fresh arrangements developed throughout the learning journey, and giving participants the opportunity to perform for family and friends.

Full price registration is usually $320. A special offer of $230 is available to BUMS Inc members. Please email gigmeister@brisbaneukulele.com to get the promocode.
