Easy Playing Classics, played at a pace suitable for beginner to intermediate players
This jam is led by experienced musicians Paul Morris of Morris Brothers Music and Linda Gough of Ivory Frets Music. A relaxing low key jam with easy chords, that’s lots of fun for uke players at all levels, every third Wednesday of the month. It’s also a great opportunity for more experienced players to practise their finger-style technique. Read a review.
This is the second round of the Guitar Brothers Sprukestar Quest . It’s an open mic contest and our next two acts, Pacifica (Peter & Jenny Ransom) and Elliott Gough, are performing after the first break.
Every audience member gets the opportunity to vote for the act they felt was the most entertaining! The winner goes through to the April decider round at the Northside Jam.
There’s great prizes and bragging rights at stake so we need you all to come, cheer the acts on… and vote! Find the Sprukestar Quest performer schedule on the Spruke Festival website .

Learn how to hold your uke, how to strum, how to read chord charts and go through some basic chords. This will allow absolutely new players a grasp of basics so they can participate and enjoy the jam.
Derek Farrell has an excellent resource website http://www.totallyinsane.com.au/uke/ to support your finger-style practise.
Most of our songs come from the Internet. Visit our Ukulele Music (in the Ukulele Info menu) for links to Richard G’s songsheets, Bytown songbooks, and many more. The Bytown slow jam songbooks are great for beginners.
