World Ukulele Day 2026

It’s going to be a great fun day, and it's free for everyone. Last year, our World Ukulele Day celebrations were fabulous.  2026 promises to be even better. There will be non-stop ukulele from 9.30am to 5.30pm.  Eight hours of music on three stages (in the Bar, Upstairs and in the Beer Garden) with jams and performances.  There will be a workshop, a beginner’s tent, and Church Mouse Cheese will be selling gourmet sausages in a roll with salad. 

We expect the Coorparoo Bowls Club to be heaving with BUMS members, other ukulele players and people coming to hear what ukuleles can do.

Draft program

9.30am – David Megarrity will kick off proceedings with a workshop in the Bar.

9.50am – Sublime Ukelectics will perform in the Beer Garden

10.30am – David Megarrity will lead a jam Upstairs involving players from his workshop.

11.00am to 3.00pm – To keep the music going, there will be eight bands taking it in turns in leading jams Upstairs or performing in the Bar.

From 3.00pm to 5.30pm, there will be five performance bands taking it in turns to play in the Beer Garden and the Bar.
