Ukulele Composers Day

This full day workshop for soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles will showcase new instrumental music for both High G and Low G ukulele by national and international composers Samantha Muir, Paul Mansell, Sally Carter, Tony Mizen, Choan Galvez and Cathy Welsford. The selected pieces provide many opportunities for learning both skills and musical understandings.

A 40-page book of the pieces, including technical notes and advice, will be provided for you to keep. It is not expected that you will be able to play all the pieces at the end of the day, or even at the recommended tempo. Rather, we will teach you how to build an understanding of each piece, how to efficiently approach it and how to practise it. You will then be able to apply your developing knowledge and techniques to other pieces.

Prerequisites: To participate you must be able to read TAB or music notation with reasonable confidence.  If you have them, bring both low G and high G ukuleles.
