Latest news on James Hill workshops in Brisbane

Here is the latest news on the two workshops to be run by James Hill on Monday 28 July at Coorparoo Bowls Club. It's a one-off opportunity to learn from one of the world’s top ukulele players and a renowned ukulele teacher. The workshops are definitely going ahead. Read on for more details particularly on how to use credit/debit cards in James' ticketing system.

James will run two workshops back-to-back.

Workshop 1 (Old Wine, New Bottles): 1:00pm – 2.15 pm

Workshop 2 (Swing, Ukulele Swing!): 2:30pm - 3:45pm

The workshops are open to anyone; BUMS members and non-BUMS members. You can come to either of the workshops or to both.  You choose.

Each workshop will cost $50 with a 20% discount for BUMS members (so only $40 per workshop for BUMS members). If you're not a BUMS member or your membership has expired, join now and save $20.  An email has been sent to BUMS financial members with the discount/coupon codes to use to get the discounted price for each workshop. If you didn’t get an email with the codes, contact secretary@brisbaneukulele.com You can claim the discount by entering the 'coupon' code when you are buying a ticket.

You will need to register for each workshop separately (i.e. you can't add both tickets to your shopping cart and pay all at once).

There are 50 tickets available for each workshop.

Workshop 1 (Old Wine, New Bottles): 1:00 pm – 2.15 pm

To ensure we start on time, please make sure you are in your seat no later than 12.45.

Level: Beginner to Advanced

A paint job, maybe? Or a new set of tires? In this all-levels workshop, James shows you how to breathe fresh life into these beloved workhorse chords. Fall in love with C, F and G7 all over again!

Overview

It's swing time in Ukulele Land! East coast, west coast, all around the town, swing is happening. Sweet-sounding swing chords are easy to play, and they sound oh-so fabulous. Your ukulele will thank you and your strumming will never be the same again. Regardless of prior experience, James will have you swinging your first Jazz tune in five minutes and you'll fly to the moon from there!
