Free Ukulele Workshop for Beginners
This fun, welcoming and free workshop introduces absolute beginners to the joy of playing ukulele. You will learn simple chords, easy strumming patterns, and a couple of songs you can play straight away. With clear guidance, a relaxed pace, and plenty of encouragement, everyone will leave feeling confident, capable, and inspired to keep playing.
There is no charge for the workshop, but please register if you intend to come along.
This workshop will be presented by Linda Gough, BUMS member.
Linda is a community‑minded ukulele teacher with 15 years of experience creating welcoming, confidence‑building spaces for players of all levels. She blends clear instruction with fun, accessible arrangements, and supportive group leadership. Her workshops and ensembles focus on connection, creativity, and the simple joy of making music together.

What will you learn?
You will learn:
- Exercises on how to train your fingers to move around the fret board with ease.
- First 6 Chords and how to use them to play lots of songs
- How to Strum in 4/4 time and 3/4 time.
- How to do basic finger picking.
You will receive a Technical Handout and several song sheets. We will need a minimum of 5 registrations for the event to go ahead.
