A workshop to introduce the Bass Ukulele by Simon Carter, BUMS member.

Picture1.png

Simon has been a musician for most of his life, performing guitar and vocals live in various venues, both solo and in bands around Brisbane and throughout Queensland.  He started playing both the ukulele and Ubass in 2022 and has focused on the bass ever since. He plays in many bands and collaborations with BUMS and is often on stage at the Coorparoo jam.

Simon likes to teach simple and practical techniques to quickly help players of all levels enjoy their performance.

The cost of the workshop is $20 with a $5 dollar discount for members.  Remember to log in to Member Jungle to get your discount.

To keep the workshop personalised, Simon will be limiting the group to ten participants.

What will you learn?

  • This workshop will focus on simple patterns of bass playing that will enable players of any skill level to accompany any chord or song easily.
  • We will be targeting players at the beginner to moderate skill level.
  • You will learn how to recognise what is needed to accompany a chord and how to play it.
  • If you have a bass please bring it along (although you will learn even if don’t have one).
  • We will mostly be playing acoustically but if your bass is a solid body electric feel free to bring an amplifier if you have one.
  • Handouts with all the required information for revision and practice later will be supplied.
