A big night at Ferny Grove

A great turn out at Ferny Grove, despite it being the second State of Origin game!

We had approx 60 members and visitors join us at Ferny Grove on Wednesday night for our jam. (not bad for a State of Origin night)

Linda and Kev began the night with a beautiful tribute song to a much loved and valued BUMS member, who passed away recently. The night continued with a great mix of songs, some easy, some a bit more challenging. A few of the songs played included Handle me with care, California Dreaming, Runaway and Knocking on Heavens Door.

In the first break, Linda’s Nightriders and Daytrippers sang a song by Susie Quattro called Singing with Angels. Susie was inspired to write this song about Elvis, incorporating lyrics from his songs. Linda’s group, the Ferny Groovers went on to lead the second set, ending with a very enthusiastic version of Devil Gate Drive.

Next, we had a couple of songs from Donna and Derek. The Swimming Song was especially entertaining!

It was a wonderful night and I believe lots of people even made it home to watch Queensland win!!
