Sunday jam at Coorparoo (and the AGM)

Come and jam with Sublime Ukelectics and The Ferny Groovers at Coorparoo Bowls Club next Sunday 17 August 2025.  It should be a fun afternoon kicking off at 1.30pm with BUMS providing finger food.  The bar will be open downstairs.

Of course, the real reason for the gathering is our Annual General Meeting – and food and music are bribes to get as many members to the AGM as possible.  You may be interested to know that a quorum is twice the number of people on the Management Committee plus one (that is 11).  We’ll exceed that number just by having Sublime Ukelectics in the room!

Our Rules of Incorporation require us to hold an AGM open to all members shortly after the end of the financial year.  At the AGM, we report to our members on our activities in 2024-25 and our financial position.  And then we elect a new committee for 2025-26.

Here are all the documents that we must send to members before the AGM.

  1. The agenda so the meeting is organised, and you can see what we will discuss.
  2. Minutes of 2023-24 meeting – we need to accept them as a true record of the last AGM.  If you were there, can you remember?
  1. The annual report from the committee to members.  This describes all the things we did in 2024-25 and thanks the many people who keep BUMS active and excited. It’s a good read and shows what you get as a member.

  1. Forming a new committee.

The current Management Committee will stand down at the AGM and a new committee will be appointed.  We have nine nominations for the 2025-26 committee.  There will be no need for voting, and we thank these nine members for volunteering to serve on the committee.
