October Jams:

Westside Jam (Sinnamon Park), Wednesday 8th October, 11am-1pm. Known as the ‘Friendly Jam’, everyone is welcome to enjoy songs mostly from the 60’s and 70’s. There’s a door prize for free coffee or tea at the first break. Open Mic. More information.
Ukulele Friday @ Corinda, NOTE: NO JAM THIS MONTH!!!
Flat Lizard Jam (Stafford), 12th October, 12.30pm-2.30pm. A laid-back jam session with Blair Marks. Suits ukulele players at intermediate level, but everyone is welcome. More information.
WeBUMS Jam (West End), Tuesday 14th October, 7pm-9pm. Sing along to your heart's content (and play a ukulele or any other instrument if you like). The ambience of The Loft at the Archive Beer Boutique just adds to the feel-good nature of the night. More information.

Extra Fun for Seniors' Month! October is Queensland Senior’s Month - a program to encourage older people to get out and try new things. BUMS will run its normal jams, and TWO EXTRA DAYTIME JAMS! These two extra jams are open to everyone. They will be free to all comers (ukulele players, singers and observers). Tell everyone you know! Geebung Singalong Jam, 17th October, 1.00pm-3.00pm. Playing Jazz Standards for Everyone! This 'Playing Jazz Standards for Everyone' workshop presented by the Wild Women of Anywhere Beach is suitable for anyone who can play a dozen or so basic chords as well as intermediate/advanced players. A new date for the ukulele sail! This event is an invitation to all ukulele players (not just BUMS) to combine a day out on Moreton Bay with a stopover on St Helena Island for lunch and a jam. Jam using songs on tablets or on paper. Or buy the BUMS Planetarium song book for $5. There will also be sea shanties and open mic opportunities. Book promptly as numbers are limited.
