Northside in October

Northside Jam 22nd October

Sue and Peter Sercombe, visiting leaders of the Westside jam, kicked the first set off with some great numbers from the 50’s and 60’s. We played and sang along to Elvis’s Blue Suede Shoes and Dion’s ‘The Wanderer’. The crowd loved joining in with “I guess it doesn’t matter anymore” and then the set finished with a great 50’s medley.

The Grandees ( Kev, Graham, Rose and Russell) led the second set, including songs like “Abracadabra”, “Hold me Now” and “Eleanor”. We also sang “Daniel”, a song with a special connection for Rose.

Peter, Andrew and Kev began the third set with “Knocking on Heavens Door”. The set also included 2 Hallelujah songs, “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen and “Hallelujah, I love her so” by Ray Charles. The night ended with the rousing chorus of “Quando, quando, quando”.

There were approx 40 members and visitors there, who all enjoyed a great night of singing and playing. The next Northside Jam will be on Wednesday November 26th 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
