Save the date Sunday - 21 June 2026 at Ferny Grove

We are planning to run a ukulele festival day at Ferny Grove Bowls and Sports Club on Sunday 21 June. This is the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere and is the day that an organisation called Make Music Australia encourages community musicians to take their music to the public.

Linda Gough who runs the Ferny Grove jam will be managing the event.  The broad plan is to have two stages – one in the function room for jamming and one in the bar area for performances and open mics.  Like at World Ukulele Day in February, each stage would run alternately providing continuous ukulele from 10.00am to 5.00pm and would provide opportunities for up to 14 bands to perform.

Our aim is to create an event like WUD attracting players from the north side of Brisbane and to impress the public with what ukulele music is all about.
