Farewell Coorparoo

05th July 2026

Wednesday 1 July was the last jam at Coorparoo Bowls Club.  After 13 years, the uncertainty about the future of the venue and finding a better venue close by caused us to make the switch.  From August, the jam on the first Wednesday of the month will be at Norman Park Sports and Community Club.

Check out where it is here.

We gave the old place a good send off with a healthy crowd and some rocking good songs.

Max signed off as MC with his customary bonhomie, a limerick, and some anecdotes of BUMS at Coorparoo.  President Peter Grace congratulated Max and Karen on eight years of coordinating the jam.  He also acknowledged the commitment of Blair Marks who has been managing the sound at the Coorparoo jams for as long as we have been running jams there.

Community Band Out on Bail, led by the inimitable Darrelle Reeve, took us through an upbeat set of songs which kept our feet tapping.

Coady Brule treated us to an open mic of Norwegian Wood.

Ukulele Saints led the second set with some new songs and some familiar ones.

David Hethorn and Adrian Board finished off the night getting the dancers up with Nut Bush City Limits.

See you at Norman Park in August.
