Northside jam rocks in August

Attendance numbers were back to normal at Geebung on the 26 August (the fourth Wednesday of the month).  Next jam is on 23 September.  It was a rocking good night with sets lead by NUMB BUMS, Tony, Jock and their mate Bob on lager phone and finishing off with Linda and Kevin with vocal support from Judi

The six players from NUMB BUMS (Graham, Diane, Alan, Andre, Lesley and Chris) led us through some old favourites like Green Door, Stand by me, Amarillo and Calendar Girl.  NUMB BUMS is a community band that practices at Zillmere on a Monday night.  They lead sets at the Northside jam and other venues and it’s a great way to start or develop their performance skills.  They are looking for new players.  More details.

The second set was led by Tony and Jock with (of course) a couple of Beatles songs.  We all belted out Ticket to Ride and Lady Madonna. They finished with You’re Sixteen and Viva Los Vegas.  They invited Bob to join them with his lager phone for a couple of bush songs, Tell me Ma and the Drover’s Dream. He brought a whole new feel to a jam night.

Linda, Kevin and Judi finished off the night with some old favourites and some more challenging songs. Highlights were Silly Love Songs, Space Oddity, Video Killed the Radio Star and Your Song.  Everyone went home happy.
