Cath McCourt was back to lead WEBUMS on Tuesday 9 July. We’ve now moved into the larger of the two function rooms and it’s brighter and an all-round better space for jamming. BUMS community band Out on Bail led a fun afternoon at the Rocklea Tavern on Sunday 7 July. A crowd of over 30 BUMS members and locals from the tavern enjoyed their two sets and sang along lustily. There were some open mics between the sets. It was such fun and such a success, that they are planning to run events like this every quarter. Rocky Sunday Afternoon - 8th July 2024

If you have been to the Coorparoo Bowls Club, you will know we have installed a stage in the upstairs function room. We want to make more use of it and have been approached by a ukulele band to put on a concert. We are keen to take this opportunity and attract ukulele lovers and those new to ukulele. 
We’d like to create a ‘concert’ team – a group of members who would take on the tasks of setting up the event, promoting it and putting it on. If you’re up for that, read on.

Jams in July 2024 - 27th June 2024
Halfway through the year and lots more jams to come. Here's the summary for July. Don’t forget – the Westside Daytime jam is on Thursday 11 July because the function room is not available on our usual Wednesday. Final State of Origin night is 17 July.  You can record it to watch later, BUT you only get one chance to be in the Ferny Grove jam.
Twenty-five BUMS made the ‘pretend’ jam for Channel 9 a great success. We played two songs and were interviewed by Bruce Paige. The finished product will be on Channel 9 News on Friday 5 July - watch this space for confirmation next week. Rocking for Channel 9 - 25th June 2024

It was a clear win for the Mighty Maroons on 5 June with the Coorparoo jam coming in a close second. Despite Darrell Reeve’s sky-blue shirt, NSW were a distant third. There were close to 50 people in attendance – a great turnout for an Origin night. Read on!
