As regulars at the Northside jam will know, we have been considering a new venue for a while. We’ve taken the plunge. From January, we will meet at the Geebung Bowls Club on the usual 4th Tuesday of the month. The jam will start at 6.30pm.
The Geebung Bowls Club is at 357 Robinson Road (opposite Meals on Wheels). It’s just after the railway fly over on the right if you are coming from Sandgate Rd or just before the railway fly over on the left if you are coming from Gympie Rd.
There is plenty of parking in front of the premises. It is walking distance from Geebung Railway Station and bus links.
The new venue is only 3kms from our previous venue, the Northern Suburbs Bowls Club at Wavell Heights. It’s close to the Zillmere Community Hall where BUMS has held workshops in the past.
The Club has recently undergone renovations. It has a roomy clubhouse and bar and a function room that we will use for the jam. The function room has a separate entrance on the left as you approach the clubhouse.
We will set up the PA system and song projection screen in the same way as we did at Northern Suburbs Bowls Club.
There is also a kitchen which will be serving food by late January. We hope you will support the Geebung Bowls Club by arriving early and having a drink and a meal before the jam. More on this later.
We will stick to the same formula. There will be three sets presented by three different leaders or bands so you can expect a variety of music genres and different ‘degrees of challenge’.
We look forward to seeing familiar faces and new faces at out new home in January for an Australian themed jam.
