NUMB BUMS

NUMB BUMS (Northern Ukulele Musicians Branch) is a BUMS community band based on the north side of Brisbane.

Rehearsal night is at Zillmere on Monday evenings where we play a wide range of music in a fun and friendly atmosphere, regularly learning new songs. Anyone with a uke is welcome to come along and try us out. To be a long-term member, you must be a financial member of BUMS.

Currently, we have about 20 players, and we play at BUMS jams and aged care homes on the northside of Brisbane.  In 2024, we had performances every 2-3 weeks, and we have similar bookings for 2026. We typically send 4–6 players for each performance, which shares the workload and gives everyone a chance to play in front of an audience.

In recent years, the band has performed at SPRUKE (the ukulele festival in King George Square 2022), Ukulele’s under the Stars (at the Planetarium 2023), and featured on a Channel 9 news clip (2024).  We are always open to supporting worthy community projects.
