Join jam leaders Peter Grace and Andrew Hunt with friends for a ukin’ lively time every fourth Tuesday of the month. All chords & lyrics projected on screen, so no need for books or printing. Lots of variety, with guest set leaders and some surprises to get you more involved. Come and join the fun.

BEGINNERS CLASS FROM 6:30PM. If you have just bought a uke or new to playing, learn some important chords with Caroline to get you jam ready!

No food available for sale but you are welcome to bring food, so bring a takeaway or maybe a little something to share with your table. The Bar is open for all your liquid refreshments!

This is the April Decider round of the Guitar Brothers Sprukestar Quest . It’s an open mic contest and the winners of our first two rounds are performing after the first break.

Winner of round one, The Ukey Beats and winner of round two, Elliott Gough will be performing at the April Decider round tonight!

Every audience member gets the opportunity to vote for the act they felt was the most entertaining! The winner goes through to the first Semi-Final at the Coorparoo Jam 7 August.

There’s great prizes and bragging rights at stake so we need you all to come, cheer the acts on…  and vote!

Round two for SPRUKESTAR QUEST is at April Ferny Grove Jam

Easy Playing Classics, played at a pace suitable for beginner to intermediate players

This jam is led by experienced musicians Paul Morris of Morris Brothers Music and Linda Gough of Ivory Frets Music. A relaxing low key jam with easy chords, that’s lots of fun for uke players at all levels, every third Wednesday of the month. It’s also a great opportunity for more experienced players to practise their finger-style technique. Read a review.

Have you been to a Jam and felt overwhelmed and frustrated that you couldn’t keep up? The Ferny Grove Jam is for you.

Paul and Linda choose popular songs, played at a nice easy (slower) pace. The songs are curated to be fun to sing, with most songs using the most common chords – Am, A7, C, C7, D, Dm, D7, F, G7, G. A friendly crowd if you need a hand just ask!

COST: BUMS members FREE and visitors $5. This includes the Beginners Class.

NEW for all very new players Dianne Davis and Donna Farrell will hold a beginners lesson before the jam starting at 6:00 pm. Learn how to hold your uke, how to strum, how to read chord charts and go through some basic chords. This will allow absolutely new players a grasp of basics so they can participate and enjoy the jam.

Join the BUMS for our biggest jam of the month.

Songs range from simple chords for beginners (and to limber up!) to more challenging chords and strumming for the more experienced. Beginners and new players come for the introductory class at 6:30 pm before the Big Jam starts. You’ll learn some jam survival tips and useful chords. Please arrive early to tune up.
