Ukulele Saints
The Ukulele Saints come from the north side of Brisbane and have been playing together since early 2017. We started as a quartet and now have six players who regularly practice together so we can put together a band to suit anyone’s needs. The original quartet all had saintly names -but we are willing to admit demons and angels to our ranks nowadays, as long as they can play the ukulele and vocalise well.
We play a wide range of genres from jazz, blues, rock and roll and .... well, in actual fact, we’ll have a crack at anything that suits the uke. We can play at parties, functions, markets, outdoor events, day or night, and will consider any opportunity to spread the happiness of the ukulele. We bring all our own equipment - we just need a power point.
The picture shows us playing at a birthday party at Woodford in October 2024. From L-R, Caroline Haig (tenor and eight string uke, melodica, keyboard and vocals), Simon Carter (bass and vocals), Leanne Williams (tenor uke and vocals), Mark Mathieson (concert uke and vocals), Frank Buckley (lead tenor and baritone uke), Peter Grace (eight string uke and vocals).
